Welcome to Requiem Magazine.
Requiem is a new poetry magazine. It may take a while to work out all of the kinks but I hope to bring to you the best poetry magazine I can. I am currently taking submissions for the first issue of Requiem. The first issue will be out as soon as I get enough submissions to consider for the issue. I hope to make Requiem a monthly magazine but that will depend on the amount of submissions I receive.
At this time I am unable to pay for your work. I do however believe that everyone should be paid for their work, I’m just not financially able to do it right now. Hopefully if this magazine does well, that will change.
If you write poetry I’d love to read it and maybe share it with others in the pages of Requiem but if you only write for money, this probably isn’t the place to showcase your work.
Checkout the Submissions tab for submission guidelines.

Jamie…
Hi everyone, I Just came across this information and yes I will send in a poem and good luck. Where do I find the rules?
Just click the Submissions tab at the top of the page for all submission guidelines. There’s a link on the Submissions page that you can click to submit.
Can I be anonymous just like the others?
What do you mean, anonymous like the others?
I’ll try NOT to be anonymous… I am a sucker for flattery though somewhat shy about it.
I like to leave me in my words a little crude, not quite refined and no where near mastering.
I just like to write what stirs me… Those old taboos of politics and religion pronounced in metaphor and simile, but most oten aggravated with in your face, straight forward frustrations don’t always bore me.
So, I sometimes, more often than not, tap into other reservoirs (sp?)… I am previously published. I am working on my third book of collections, and have a few other books out. And Oh, by the way, I’ve never profitted from writing prose, poetry or prosetry… And I know I don’t use spell check often enough. I am not a mechanic striving to make things either grammatically, punctuational or otherwise get near perfect… just expressive. I do want people to be entertained, sometimes strained and sometimes left in a curious darkness of, what was that?
I’ll be your slave, just tell me what to do and when, and I’ll try to conform somewhat if you’ll suffer me… m.l. “Mike” farahay
PS: you can jury some of my stuff at http://www.farahay.com You may even pick out some pieces you may want to use as filler material. Just let me know first, please? In the mean time, I’ve just finished a piece I call The 2011 OCCUPY X-mas Carol… I’ll read your submission’s guidelines first though before making the effort… But now, I think I’ve worn myself out already… Coffee, tea or Pepsi for me… It’s break time; but Mitt, you can’t have any, and we all know why…
Dude, two things you may want to consider:
1. Quality lit magazines are not looking for “filler material.” Filler material is the old newspaper you stuff in the wall of your trailer to keep the wind out.
2. Don’t tell an editor “I’ll be your slave” in a public forum. What kind of creeper are you?
Sincerely,
A published poet
