Exhausted, though staggering toil lie ahead
Lurking, indefinite creatures of deceit
Transpiring forms of unyielding dread
Waiting day’s close to unveil its empty conceit 

Lurking, indefinite creatures of deceit!
So is the laborer’s song!
Cynical thought glimmers mock unto defeat
The heedless cycle of the dull hammer’s throng
